Are you ready for over 42 miles of paddling paradise in Kentucky?

 

The Hart County Blueway on the Green, covers 42.5 miles of the Green River. This Blueway flows past springs, blue holes, islands and other points of interest on one of the most biodiverse rivers in the nation. The overview and individual trip documents, plus safety information for all trips can be found below.

The water trail begins at the private launch, Lynn Camp Creek, and runs to Dennison Ferry, just inside Mammoth Cave National Park.  Please note, access must be arranged to launch at Lynn Camp Creek. Also, please note that there is no public access in-between Munfordville and Dennison Ferry. The 7 trip PDF’s can be found below.

1. Lynn Camp Creek to Rio

The first trip outlined on our newest Blueway is 9.5 miles long and has one of the most popular points of interest on the Green River, the 300 Springs Waterfall.  Again, please note that the Lynn Camp Creek Launch is privately owned so arrangements must be made to launch.  

2. Lynn Camp Creek to Harry Wilson Park/Johnson Springs

The second trip we highlight on this Blueway is the 18 mile trip from Lynn Camp Creek to Harry Wilson Park at Johnson Springs. This trip offers three additional springs as well as Buckner Island.  This would be best planned as an overnight option.  Again, please note that the Lynn Camp Creek Launch is privately owned so arrangements must be made to launch.  

3. Lynn Camp Creek to Munfordville

The third and final trip from Lynn Camp Creek is a big 21.5 mile trip with many points of interest in between.  300 Springs Waterfall, as well as Buckner Springs, Grady Springs and Johnson Springs. You can also paddle up to the Wilkerson Blue Hole when the water is right. Then we’re here at Munfordville, to welcome you as a take out.  You’ll be hungry when you get off the river and our restaurant info can be found hereAgain, please note that the Lynn Camp Creek Launch is privately owned so arrangements must be made to launch. 

4. Rio to Harry Wilson Park/Johnson Springs

The trip from Rio, Hart County’s newest public launch, and Harry Wilson Park/Johnson Springs makes a great day trip at 8.5 miles of paddling.  This trip includes paddling past Buckner Springs, Grady Springs and ending up at Johnson Springs to take out. Then we’re here at Munfordville, to welcome you as a take out.  You’ll be hungry when you get off the river and our restaurant info can be found here.

5. Rio to Munfordville

This twelve mile trip from Rio to Munfordville includes paddling by Buckner Island, Buckner Springs, Grady Springs, Wilkerson Blue Hole and Many Tracks Island. We’ll be here at Munfordville, to welcome you as a take out.  You’ll be hungry when you get off the river and our restaurant info can be found here. 

6. Harry Wilson Park/Johnson Springs to Munfordville

One of the most popular trips on the Green River in Kentucky is the 3.5 miles from Harry Wilson Park to Munfordville.  It’s a local favorite plus a trip many travelers enjoy as well.  In just 3.5 miles you can see the amazing biodiversity of the river, stop by a blue hole and rest on Many Tracks Island.  Then we’re here at Munfordville, to welcome you as a take out.  You’ll be hungry when you get off the river and our restaurant info can be found here.

7. Munfordville to Dennison Ferry

If you’re REALLY into taking the road less traveled, how about not taking a road at all to get into Mammoth Cave National Park??  This 21 mile paddling trip takes you through the backdoor of Mammoth Cave by water.  Launching at Munfordville’s Stovall Park and wrapping up at Dennison Ferry inside Mammoth Cave National Park you’ll paddle past Gorin Mill Spring, Rush Island and the McCoy Blue Hole.  Please note that there is not public access in these 21 miles of water trail and that an overnight would be required.
